Our company is built on the foundation of providing highly qualified and certified on site ASL interpreters throughout the Northwest. We take pride in being recognized within the community as the premier provider of Expert Sign Language Interpreters. While our requirements for being a member of our Freelance Interpreting Team may be considered rigid by some, it is these standards that have gained us the reputation of being
“the agency to go to when quality communications are important…”
We primarily place nationally certified interpreters that carry professional liability insurance. Each interpreter is expected to abide by the ethics and guidelines of the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (http://rid.org). We also make it a policy to fully understand the strengths and capabilities of each interpreter. This allows us to better match the skills and vocabulary of the ASL Interpreter to the needs and the environment of the assignment.
We regularly confer with our Requesters and Deaf Consumers to insure that we are making the right choices when sending ASL Interpreters on assignments.
We understand that being certified does not necessarily mean qualified for any given situation. It is important that the Interpreter’s vocabulary, signing style and experience are coordinated to meet the communication needs of each setting. We are proud to have a team of ASL Interpreters that “self monitor” and continuously grow their professional skills.
In the years we have had this agency we have enjoyed watching many Expert Sign Language Interpreters emerge from entry level, recent grads to Legally Certified ASL Interpreters. We know how hard this is and the amount of work and experience it takes to become the best in your field. We believe nurturing professionals by working with them to allow them to stretch their skills without compromising standards is critical to their success as well as our own.
One of our most important policies is to always contact the requested Interpreter before offering an assignment to anyone else on our team. We strongly encourage Deaf Consumers and Requesters to share their preferences with us. Users that register on our site are able to update their own profiles, including preferred interpreters at any time.
